Now we get the good news -- from IrrationalKen -- that the editor is just a few days away. Great! But what happened to the laison?

Now, I noticed that Pace had asked the meshers to email him. So I'm wondering if he's just working with meshers behind the scenes. Any meshers want to shed any light?
Is Pace still around but just message-board-shy? Is he working on special projects with you guys? Or is he missing in combat?

I think I'm asking because until this last (good) news from IrrationalKen, it seems like all questions directed to Irrational were just going unanswered.

Any news appreciated. Hell, at this point, even ill-founded rumors will do. Anything to get me through the final few days until we have the editor.

Yeah, I think that's it.

As for your rude reply: is that a defense mechanism when you don't know the answer to a reasonable question? And no, you don't need to answer that. However, if you do know when Pace last posted, I would be interested in that information.

Optimistically, I was hoping to discover some great news from folks like jik and Beyonder about how Pace had moved to behind the scenes working with them on some great new project after his Mesher's Unite post. Pessimistically, I feared that while we were told we were getting a community laison, it appeared that there was actually less response to threads that asked Irrational for information. The kind of threads that Ken and Jonathan normally answered for us, quite nicely.

Me - just got back from a week in Puerto Rico with my girlie. Good thing she slept on the plane...I had my headphones on, my laptop on, and FF in full effect!

And Prowl, you're right. We don't need Pace to repeat what Ken said. However, we do need Pace -- or someone -- to respond to our threads because that's how we've gotten all kinds of information.

On the mesh boards there have been questions posed to Irrational regarding making meshes that Ken and Jonathan used to answer with frequency -- and solid information. Then Pace becomes laison and -- poof -- no apparent word.

I guess I was hoping that the real deal was that Pace was off working with the meshers and that meant even more great stuff for us. But so far at least that doesn't seem to be the case. So now I'm just curious.

So, again I ask? Any Pace sightings? Any word from Irrational?

And if we play our FF disks backwards will we hear, "Pace is dead" ... or does that just work on old Beatles albums?

Birthday indeed! What are the odds that yesterday was his real birthday. I'll tell you. 365 to 1. Yes, 365 to 1. Then compound those odds by the odds of working for somebody who would let you take your birthday off!

I am not fooled. No, not I. And I will keep this thread going until I get to the bottom of this self-created mystery! (Or until the editor comes out!)

And if you think Ken's going to manipulate me into saying -- "HAPPY BIRTHDAY, PACE!" -- you have another think coming. I will never say "HAPPY BIRTHDAY, PACE. HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU!"

Did anyone think of that? Huh? Huh?

Yet just look at some undeniable key facts:

1) Pace and SuperJew have never been seen together.
2) Pace disappears mysteriously, and just as mysteriously SuperJew pounces onto the scene.
3) IrrationalKen, having remained silent throughout this entire would-be controversy, suddenly enters the conversation and provides Pace with a questionable "birthday alibi".
4) the odds of Pace having a birthday remain at 365 to 1.
5) the odds of having an Editor at the end of the week may be even higher than that. Though not necessarily.
6) No one seems to be talking except a suspicious few who seemed hell bent on spreading viscious rumor and innuendo, myself included.
7) Even Glitch Girl, normally sane, admits that something of concern to Patriot City may or may not be up. And tells us to stay tune.

What does it all add up to? 7 key facts, that's what. And to prove my point beyond even the most reasonable of doubts, I have actually NUMBERED THEM.

And when facts are numbered this way, they take on a whole new sinister meaning, don't you think?

Anyway, it is after midnight here on the East Coast. And that means that the Editor is one day closer ... even as IrrationalPace is one day further away.

Which do you think YOU will see first, hero?

Fortunately, though, Hessky has arrived once again on the scene, so all seems to be well . . . for the moment.

But the real question is, which one of us would-be satirists is really Dave Barry? And how long will it be before someone decides to tell The Super Jew that "Your evil is unwanted here?" Tune in tomorrow in a hopefully less sleep-deprived state . . .

And yet ... re-reading Pace's post ... are we even SURE that that was him posting?

Before you answer "yes," as most logical posters might, let me try to confuse you with ONE UNDENIABLE FACT:

If you look at IrrationalPace's signature ... it now suddenly reads ...

(melodramatic swell of music here)

IRRATIONAL under his name!!!!!!!!!!!

What? That can't be possible? Many posters have already previously observed -- and commented on -- how Pace's posts DID NOT HAVE the Irrational Signature.

And don't try to tell me that they coincidentally fixed this for him. Not after telling me it was his birthday! (We've already discussed the incredible odds of that happening -- 365 to 1.)

Now what does that lead the paranoid to believe? I'll tell you what the paranoid believe!!!!

After months, if not days, of being absent from this thread, Pace suddenly makes his alleged re-appearance just moments (or hours) after IrrationalKEN has posted on this board, trying to establish "the alibi."

But take a look under IrrationalKen's signature. What do you see? I'll tell you what you see: (or like on Ally McBeal, should we all say it together): We see the IRRATIONAL signature.

The same irrational signature that now mysteriously appears under IrrationalPace's signature ... even though it has NEVER appeared there before.

To make a long story short -- which is clearly no longer possible given the length of this thread -- the conspiracy theorists among us here may believe that:

1) IrrationalKen, to cover up the disappearance of his new hire, IrrationalPace, posted a message using IrrationalPace's name. However, like all novice perpertrators of crime, Ken forgot one little detail: his Irrational signature, our telltale clue!

(And, trust me, Lt. Columbo has pinned murder on his guests stars with far flimsier "evidence.")

2) IrrationalPace disappeared at the same time that SuperJew came on the scene; and one has never been seen on the same thread as the other. No one -- not even IrrationalKen or the alleged IrrationalPACE -- has ever disputed that Pace and SJ are one and the same!

3) And MOST damning of all, it is clear (to this writer) that this controversial mystery may just continue right up until we actually have the Editor in our hands, and we all find something better to do with our time.

But don't worry! As long as normally sane people like Glitch_Girl, 4-Eyed Avenger, The Crusador and others continue to feed this lunancy, we will never give up looking for poor IrrationalPace ... or the mission editor, whichever comes first.

That is my promise.
That is my pledge.
That is my psychosis.

Clearly, we can all agree that the fate of the mysterious IrrationalPace and his alter ego is hanging by a thread. THIS THREAD.

My only hope is that our devote AncientSpirit can uncover the true situation that may be buried beneath a deception that runs into the darkest depths. Hopefully this will occur in time for our dear IrrationalPace to celebrate his _real_ birthday! One can only hope...
