Voltron\Aries Team Crossover Of Twins And Traitors Part Four Athens, again "What are they doing here?" wondered Mike aloud, as he stared fascinated at the visual of the three bio mechanical lions on the monitor. "They are still a good way out. We have time to figure out how to handle them." said Keith, as a look crossed his face that told anybody who saw it that he was already mentally going through the possibilities. "I think," said Felicity,"That I should probably hail them when they get close to the castle. I mean, we don't know what they want, they may not even be coming here.." "No." said Keith in a firm voice. "No?" said Mike and Felicity together. "If what that VF pilot told us is in any way legitimate, no matter what the situation, it probably would be unwise to try to get them to come here. They may not even come here, as you said. And if they are coming here, it's because they know who we are, and somehow followed us(which is unlikely), unless there's something else I've overlooked. In any of these scenarios, I don't want to have to go against those lions." "What?" said Mike with a cheeky grin. "You don't think we can handle them?" "Oh no. I am positive any one of us could handle all three alone and armed only with our bare hands. But it would be such a shame to blow up such great ships!" When the laughter had subsided at that statement, he added, "And you know that win or lose, a fight with ships of these size would result in some damage to our home." "So what do we do?" "We wait. Let them come out to us. If we don't respond and make the place look empty, they will most likely investigate, assuming they are coming here at all. That means we can bet they will have to come out of the lions at some point. Even if they have hand held weapons, we have a significantly large advantage in any land confrontation. That, and we know the lay out of the castle; they don't." Mike smiled and said,"Uh, Keith? Not to sound disrespectful or anything, I mean it sounds like a good strategy and all, but do you honestly think they would be dumb enough to come into the castle like that? They'd have to be pretty daft, if you ask me, for this plan to work exactly the way you said...." "I'd appreciate it if you would refrain from questioning my judgement, Mike." said Keith in a calm voice."But since you brought it up, couldn't you tell that they probably are that daft? That girl we saw outside there castle, you remember her, the blonde, she is a member of the VF. How bright can they be if they put someone like her on the team? I'll go farther. Did it occur to you how long it took the other people to get out there after she screamed?" Mike smiled suddenly. "I have to admit, you might be on to something!" "Might be? Your confidence in me is positively overwhelming." "Seriously, I really do think it could work." "Great, really. Now are either of you going to do anything at all to put the plan into affect or are you going to stand there until they get here?" Meanwhile, back on the Red Hound ship, Guinivere's sudden scream swiftly brought the rest of the team to her aid. Jennifer, among other things, was the team medic. She now shoved her way through the small group, and crouched down at her friends side. At her request, everyone, with the exception of the captain stepped back to make room. Marshall got down behind the fallen brunette and carefully held her arms in an attempt to both reassure and steady her. He spoke gently into her ear, trying to calm the stricken girl, while Jennifer checked her shoulder for injury. After a minute or so, the curly haired medic looked up shaking her head, a look of baffled concern etched on her face. "I can't find what's wrong. There is absolutely no visible sign of injury."she said in a soft voice. "Then what is it, Genny?" said the disquieted Lance (who we shall now refer to as Hell Kat, as it is much too confusing to have two Lance's). "It's not like you to fake sick. Hell, normally your too thick-headed to admit when you are hurt! Not going soft on us, are you?" Outwardly, Genny glared at her false team mate, but inwardly, she grinned. He was playing his part well. She felt something just then that was like a light brush on her thought, and perceived as a telepathic message from the above mentioned Aries team second. :Was that performance good? Or am I overdoing it?: :No, : she thought back at him, :if I didn't already know, I would have a hard time telling the difference.: Aloud, she said in a dangerous voice,"I am certainly not faking it! And I resent that suggestion!" "If your not faking it, then why can't Jennifer here find anything wrong with you?" broke in another voice, a distinctly arrogant one at that. This was Allison, the other Aries team pilot, disguised as Jena, another pilot on the RH team. At the same time as she was saying that out loud, Alli sent a mental message to Genny. :Gawd, is this girl really this much of a bitch?: :At times, yes. This would be one of those times.: was the slim brunette's response.:It's her way of covering the fact that she doesn't know what to do.: "She can't find anything, darlin', " said Genny in an absolutely cold voice,"Because I'm not the one who is hurt." "Oh that makes a great deal of sense!" yelled David, angry because Genny's violent outburst had really scared him and the others. It also irritated him that she now just sat there making vague little statements instead of explaining herself. This was completely unlike her normal behavior. "Care to explain to us what in God's name that is supposed to mean?" snapped Hell Kat/Rosco."Not everyone is as incredibly perceptive as you." his voice was saturated with sarcasm. :Getting into your new role I see!: sent Allison/Jena, with a shimmer of laughter in her mental voice. :You're not doin' so bad yourself.:was the short reply. Glaring at the big-haired figure in front of her, she spoke in a voice that dared anyone to argue with her,"It's not me who is injured. It's my brother. He's in trouble, and we have to go help him." The tense silence that followed this outrageous statement was almost tangible. Everyone just stayed there, staring at the honey eyed girl who simply glared back, challenging anyone to question the validity of her statement. After several tense moments, the silence was broken by a scornful snort. It had come from Lauren, a tall, muscular girl who had not spoken a word until now. She rarely ever spoke, preferring to leave the talking to the others. Today was no exception; she stalked to the back of the ship, looking more than a little disgusted. The small noise did the trick, however. It snapped everyone else out of their individual trances. "Talk sensibly, Genny! How could you know that? It's humanly impossible!"said Marshall with as much patience as he could muster. "He's my twin! I always can sense when he's hurt or scared! Have I ever been wrong about this?" "But Genny, if you can always tell when he's in trouble, why haven't you sensed him before?" said Jennifer in a reasonable tone. "He is after all a Voltron Force member. He probably get into tough spots on a regular basis." "I have sensed him before, but this time he's in worse trouble than he's ever been in before! I know I'm the only one who could possibly find him!" :You're sure of this?: came the mental voice of Hell Kat/Rosco. :Yes.: she thought back. :Are you getting any mental images from your brother? Specifically images that could help me identify his current location?: :I'm getting some images. They might help.: :Good. Focus on those images. I'm going to do a little bit of a mind probe to see what your getting.: The sorcerer then proceeded to do what he said he would, but the images he saw in the female pilots head made his blood run cold. :Alli,: he sent to his co-pilot, :her brother's on Hydra!: End Part Four! Comments and Criticism appreciated!
