From Days of Long Ago...
From Uncharted Regions of the Galaxy...
Comes a Legend.

So says the opening narration of “Voltron: Defender of the Universe”.

However, none of the Voltrons were from “days of long ago” or “uncharted regions of the galaxy”.

But what if, just what if, over a thousand years ago, there was something, a great defender, built from science and magic, that had long ago been lost and forgotten.

Until now.

And that's how it all started.

What it turned into, I have dubbed V4, referring to the four (yes I did say four) giant robots, each known as Voltron, that defend the Universe from all dangers. These are their stories.

There's no question that there's a lot of Voltron fanfiction out there already; I've gotten a chance to read a lot of it while I sarted building this site, and believe me, there's a lot of talent out there. However, all of these writers have been working independantly so far. What if there was a way they could all collaborate, share ideas, maybe feed off of each other's ideas?

That's where the V4 site comes in. Not only is it a place to gather and showcase Voltron fanfiction, but also a resource for sharing creations and referencing continuity with a master timeline of major events, galaxy map, and character listing. It's not an unprecedented idea; there've been shared universes even before the Web, which is why I think this can work. And rumor has it, it may not be the only one.

Of course, there are some ground rules. Rule Number One, is respect other peoples' creations! In other words, if someone reserves one of his/her characters, don't use it without permission. That's why I'll try to keep an updated contact list once things get started so you can ask. Oh, and major characters from the show cannot be reserved; everyone has equal access to them. Minor characters... well, we'll talk.

Please don't get me wrong, I want everyone to have as much creative freedom in this as possible, and I'm usually very flexable about a lot of this. I'm even game to alternate universe stories if you want to try something a little different. so far, I've had a little feedback, but hopefully, I'll see more as time goes on.

I hope you enjoy the site, and I look forward to your feedback and/or participation.
