Looks like I ended up getting back a little earlier than expected, which means I had time to add stuff tonight! First off, Karen's Other Dimensions story, Lost Souls concludes with part 2. Go check it out!

Next, some of you may have heard about a Voltron WinAmp skin I was working on. Well, it's finished! Special thanks to VVGuru for letting me use one of his screen shots in it. If you want to download it, just check out the Fun Stuff Page to get it and other Voltron related goodies.

Hopefully tomorrow night I'll have a chance to get Christine's new Voltron-X chapter ready to go, so get ready.

Happy Thanksgiving all. Yes, I know I intended to have the second part of Karen's story up, but word and the pending holiday trip dictated otherwise. Hopefully, I will be back on Sunday, and then I might have time to put it up. That and Christine's new chapter. AND her pending new chapter which looks like it'll be finished soon, AND some other possible new stuff, AND a new item for the Fun Stuff section. [gasp!] Believe me though, I'm not complaining.

NEW TOY ALERT!!! Yes, your truly has finally gotten around to adding a new odd or end to the Fun Stuff page! The one and only (as far as I know, and feel free to correct me if I'm wrong) Voltron Screen Saver. After discovering a way to author screen savers, I decided to try my hand and this was the first project. The screen saver features the Lion Voltron key tumbling around your screen. Simple, yes, but it IS my first screen saver. AND it's now available for download.

And that's not all! We've got two new stories for you to read, and a third on the way. For now, check out chapter 16 in Christy's fabulous Voltron X Other Dimensions story. It's part one of an alternate time line (in an alternate dimension. don't worry, it's not as confusing as it sounds), and unless I miss my guess, it features Voltron X versions of some of the Vehicle Voltron cast. Plus, after FAR too long in the making (though not as long as a few of the parts), I finished V4: Legend Part 5 awaits your perusal. PLUS, ther's a preview of the next arc that I've already started on.

Greetings all! Yes, I know I seemingly vanished off the net, due to far too many things to go through here. However, after far to long an absence, I AM BACK!!! And boy do I have a pile of stuff to get ready.

I apologize to everyone for being gone this long, but with Halloween almost here, and many other things finally settled, I should be able to devote a lot more time to this than I have. For now, here's a few additions for you just in time for Halloween: Karen brings us a ghost story in a new Other Dimensions story, Lost Souls. And if you're in the mood for something else rather creepy, check out a new chapter in the Voltron X epic by Christy. Definitely worth checking out.

Best to you, and Happy Halloween!!

I'm up to my eyeballs in HTML!!! But that's okay, 'cause that means there's new cool stuff for you to look at. For starters, check out the exciting conclusion of Book One of Mike's 2nd Expansion story, Shadows of the Ancient War, not to be missed. Also up, is the Other Dimension story by Greywolf. Check out the latest chapter in Robot Wars.

Speaking of Other Dimension stories, I've recently reworked the Fiction archive slightly. Basically, it'd gotten so big (this is a good thing) I needed to break it down into two pages. Now there is the Main Archive, and the Other Dimensions Archive, accessible off the Main Archive. If you have any problems, let me know.

And finally, you'll notice that the V4 Shape History Contest entries have been integrated into the archives. Again, thanks to those who entered, you did a great job. And as always, don't forget the V4 Round Robin Board, always fun! 'Til Later,

We've got new fiction for your viewing pleasure today! First, check out Hell's Belle's latest chapter in Of Twin's and Traitors, her Other Dimensions story that just keeps getting better. Go see it now! The other new pieces is a bit short, but since it seems I'm taking forever on my latest chapter, I decided to post what I had, so at least the cliffhanger can be a little more bearable. And don't forget, the winners of the Voltron V4 Contest are still up. Make sure to check them out if you haven't already, well worth the time, believe me. And as always, don't forget the V4 Round Robin Board, always fun! 'Til Later,

I know it's been a week since I closed the V4 Contest and so far I haven't put up the entrants, but I've hit a minor snag due to the fact that there were only four entries. I would like to address this now.

I decided to run a contest for two reasons. The first, and probably main one, was to possibly bring some life back into the VIC (Voltron Internet Community), as lately morale seems less than optimal. I thought that a contest might get people excited and might get them thinking in new ways, especially the topic I picked, namely: the past. A whole lotta past, about two thousand years to be exact.

The second reason I held it was it appeared that there WAS interest. I put a small survey on my site with an overview of the idea and waited to see what would happen. I received about 27 positive responses. I had hoped that at last a third of them might actually enter something, especially when given about a month to work on it, but obviously I was wrong.

Am I mad? No.

Am I disappointed? I'd be lying if I said I wasn't.

I did have hopes to see other people's ideas in what happened in days of long ago, and I also hoped there would be enough entries for a fair contest. Unfortunately, with only two entries per category (art & fiction), there isn't. While I could lump everything together and give one large prize, the idea doesn't hold merit, as comparing fiction to art is like comparing animals and vegetables.

I finally came to a solution; however, it means going back on my word twice.

First: the prize JPEGs. I will only be handing out the Winner JPEGs, as there are no finalists. The graphics have been emailed to the contestants and should be arriving momentarily, if not already.

Second: the toy. I have decided that since there were only four entries, all of extremely high merit, I will dig into my funds and give each entrant a giant Voltron toy as a reward for their exceptional work and effort. So far, I have managed to glean together three of the toys, but the fourth is not available at this time, which is part of the reason for the long delay. I had hoped to make this announcement with all four in my possession, but at this time this is not possible, and I did not want to wait any further. I have emailed the contestants and asked if any of them will be willing (on a strictly volunteer basis) to wait until one turns up, or if they have a suggestion of their own should the fourth robot not turn up in Birmingham. I hope that they will enjoy their prizes, as they truly deserve them.

I am sorry that I couldn't inspire more interest, but what's done is done. I hope that you will take some time out to view the entries now on display now. I will be incorporating them into the main site later on but for now, they will be in display in a special area for your viewing. You can find them at the Voltron V4 Contest Page. I hope you enjoy them.

I'd also like to take a moment to thank those that entered: Tamy, Karen, Zejan, and Stephanie. Guys, you did some wonderful work, I was extremely impressed. I'd also like to thank SC and Mike who were kind enugh to help me as judges, but it looks like their servies will not be needed after all. Still, thanks for the effort guys.

Until next time,
Mea, 07.11.00

Well, I'm back from Dragon*Con in Atlanta with many stories to tell and souvenirs to try and find new homes for in my small apartment. A good time was had by all I think, and I look forward to next year. I will attempt to chronicle some of the high points in the near future so you can get a good idea what it was like.

The Contest is now CLOSED! I'm sorry if you didn't get your entry in in time, but I can't give an extension and I'll have to use what I got. I'm sorry to say I only received a total of four entries, but I will do what I can with what I have. I will be consulting with the other judges as to how I should go about this with so few entries and still be fair.

GO SEE TITAN A.E. and CHICKEN RUN!!! I've seen 'em both, and all I can say is "WOW!". I highly recommend both of them: Titan A.E. has visuals that stuck with me for days, a cool adventure, and some clever wit as well as some of the best character and production and sound design I've seen in an American sci-fi animation. Chicken Run is smart, funny, and it's by the creator of Wallace and Gromitt (which I also highly recommend) and shows the same care and cleverness of it's predecessor. Prove animation for the older generation is a good thing. SEE THESE MOVIES!!!

And, of course, have a happy 4th of July! 'Til Next Time!.
